All coupon customers will have their coupons or cards redeemed if they do not show up for a scheduled appointment without a minimum of 24 hours notice. All reservations including cash will be assesses a $50 fee for no shows.
All discount coupons are under the same restrictions as all rides but no child under the age of 8 can be a participant in a discounted ride. All children under the age of 8 are required to be tethered to the guide, which limits the guide’s ability to do certain things along the ride. Therefore all children under the age of 8 must be paid for at full price. Other participants 8 or older can use discounts on the same ride.
All riders must be six years old and up.
We do not have a limit on the upper end of age but we do have some physical requirements no matter your age.
- You must be able to walk for as long as you plan to ride.
- You must be able to walk up a two step mounting block unassisted.
- You must be able to step up into the saddle stirrup, support yourself with your arms and lift your leg and hip up and over the saddle before sitting, without assistance.
- You must not have any debilitating issues that could render you unable to remain on the horse through the duration of the ride.
- Cognitive restrictions:
- All riders must be capable of understanding and following the directions of the guide, both, at the beginning of the ride and during the ride. Due to insurance restrictions we do not offer therapeutic riding of any kind.
Children over 12 years old can ride without the guardian present but the guardian must remain on the property during the ride. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult on the ride, it can be anyone they know, not just a parent or sibling. But only a legal guardian can sign the child’s release form.
Due to insurance restrictions we do not allow any children under 6 years old on our trail rides. We cannot allow children to ride double with parent. We do offer wagon, carriage and sleigh rides as well as pony rides for children who cannot participate in our trail rides.
Our rides are generally 6 people, due to equipment and safety restrictions we must limit children who are 6 or 7 yrs old to one per ride, children under 10 to a total of two per ride and children under 12 to a total of three per ride.
We have a very lenient weight tonerance due to our large-boned draft crosses and our seat size appropriate and shock absorption Tucker Saddles made specifically for heavier riders. These saddles because of their design to carry more weight do not have a stirrup length for shorter riders so its necessary for us to use these guidelines to keep our horses healthy and our riders safe.\r\n
- Riders over 220 lbs please use these guidelines must let us know when they reserve the ride.
- Riders 220lbs to 250lbs must have a 30″ inseam
- Riders 250lbs to 280lbs must have a 34″ inseam
- We cannot take riders over 280 lbs.
Weather related cancellations are based on the forecast weather for our area. We typically only cancel reservations for excessively heavy rain, lightning, excessive heat/humidity, excessive cold, excessive snow, or excessive wind. We do our best to notify you the day before your reservation. We may do one of three things. We will ether cancel and reschedule your ride, delay your ride (you will have the option to reschedule), or allow you to choose what you would like to do. If you choose to keep your reservation it may be canceled or delayed at any time up to your reserved time for safety reasons. A credit is available if you prepaid by credit card.
By making a reservation we are holding a horse for each person in your group. Our rides are limited based on the number of horses expected to be available and we do NOT intentionally over book rides. A few possible unexpected exceptions include horse illness or injury, or physical limitations such as too many riders over 6’6″ or under 5’0″ as our equipment is fitted to the rider. You reserved time slot may be delayed or rescheduled due to issues caused by previous reservations, physical limitations, and/or weather. You can help minimize delays by arriving 15 minuets early to fill out releases and get fitted for helmets. These delays are unforeseen and we will do our best to minimize delays. Our refund policies are located HERE.
Yes, But since guided trail rides here in the U.S, are traditionally western saddles, we do not allow this on beginner rides since it requires a lot of saddle swapping for the guides. But all intermediate and up rides can accommodate English saddle preferences.
When you arrive, the guide’s job is to fit you with the best saddle and horse combination for your weight, height, age and experience level. Some saddles stirrups will not accommodate people under 5 feet tall and some saddles have child size seats. The guide knows their equipment and has to choose based on safety and insurance regulations.
Yes. One release form is required for EACH rider. Minors must have their release signed by a parent. If parents are not going to be present at the farm releases can be Downloaded and signed ahead of time. A copy of the parents drivers license must accompany the release.
For larger groups we can split your rides and take them out back to back while the rest of your party enjoys a hike, swim or lunch in Casco.
All commercial coupons are limited to four per reservation, so only four coupon riders are allowed per group. Call ahead, depending on the time of year we may offer an on farm discount for groups of a certain size.
Yes. We cannot accommodate more than 3 riders under 5 feet tall and two riders over 240 lbs per group of six or eight. Children 6 and 7 years old are limited to one per group of six to eight. Children under the age of 10 are limited to two and count as riders under 5 feet. Children under the age of 12 are limited to three and count as riders under five feet.
Most of the year we have a limit of six riders per ride. Due to insurance regulations this is the number we can take per guide. In the summer we have extra guides and horses and can sometimes take up to 8 people at a time but you must arrange this in advance.
We do not offer lessons. We will help with technique and safety issues while on the trail rides but it is up to you to learn what you need to know to progress to more advanced rides.
Generally but there may be situations where you will get to experience other horses due to a groups’ size and physical needs.
All rides are guided and all riders have to adhere to our guidelines.. If you are part of a group ride you will be required to ride at their level which can include walk, trot and canter at different skill levels but these are not guaranteed, it is all about safety. On the special FRP rides the rides are a little more relaxed once everyone has shown their ability to handle their individual horses but standard safety rules still apply and everyon must adhere to our insurance regulations. All away rides are guided and all regulations will apply along with trail etiquette requirements.
