Check out Jug Town Trail with us on June 27th at 5 pm! This is a three hour horseback ride beginning at Carousel Horse Farm. It is primarily flat sandy wide trails. Thishorseback ride will feature opportunities to see wildlife, wild flowers and different ecosystems. We’ll be on the edge of the black pitch pine forest which is the third largest of its kind in North America and very rare in the world. Keep an eye out for the rare bog elfin butterfly which is a unique part of the Black Pitch Pine forest ecosystem. Since this is an evening horseback ride, the chances of seeing wildlife are much greater than our average daily guided trail rides.
Riders should dress appropriate for the weather and the bugs! We’ll be moving quickly on this ride so the bugs shouldn’t be too bad. Long sleeves, jeans or riding pants, boots with a low heel, bug spray and a bottle of water are essentials for longer horseback rides.
At the ride’s end will be the sunset! We should be topping Leach Hill at just the right time for a million dollar view of Mt. Washington and the Presidential Range if the evening is clear.
