Photo Policies at Carousel Horse Farm
Our photo policy has always been the same ever since handheld phone cameras have been in use but lately we seem to be taking a lot of flack in reviews about this policy. Recently we changed our preride talk to include our camera policy with an invitation to our riders to ask us to take photos at the end of the ride when it is convenient to pass the phone to the guide. It seems that people forget to ask or maybe forget that they can ask and, after all is said and done, they remember that we told them not to use them during the ride for safety reasons. Thats when we get the mediocre or bad reviews.
Improve Experience with Signs
We hope to improve the customer experience with signs that encourage riders to ask for photos along the ride and after the ride before they dismount. Guides are motivated by tips so it is in their best interest to offer to take your photo. Some days when its busy and all rides are full it can be difficult for the guide to remember. So take initiative and stay engaged with the guide throughout the ride. They love to answer questions about the farm and horses but are instructed not to talk too much during the ride unless the customers show interest. And by all means ask for a photo at the end of your ride!
Cameras on the Trail
We also want to improve the customer experience with cameras along the trail. We hope to set up cameras on the trail in three different locations. At each location you will be instructed to move together in a group for a family photo, or to slow down and move through two markers so that each rider gets a personal portrait on their horse and another that offers a “line view” with each rider in front of the picture with the horses coming along behind. At the end of the ride, you’ll be invited into the cafe to view the photos and purchase.
Candid Group Photos on Social Media
And last but not least, we will have our cafe host take random photos as riders mount and dismount, sit in the picnic area and head out or return from the trail. These photos will be available on our Facebook page to share on your own,
We hope that with these measures we will be able to improve customer experience without reducing our safety measures. We take pride in our safety record and will continue to use the highest levels of care to keep everyone safe.
