Riding Vacation Rules and Regulations
ACTIVITIES
Carousel Horse Farm provides activities and themed weekends designed for trail and travel enthusiasts. Activities include coffee social, themed cookouts, cooking contests, story telling, outdoor movie night, card games, and more.
ATVs
Rules for ATV’s are posted and a form will be provided to sign. ATVs cannot be used off authorized trails and cannot interfere with the safety or passing of horseback riders. Please visit Lake Region ATV Club for more information about trails, rules and Maine Law. All ATV trailers must be parked on reserved sites and ATVs must be kept close to doors or in designated parking areas. No vehicle parked can block or partially block a throughway.
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
Maine State law prohibits anyone under the age of 21 to possess or consume alcoholic beverages or anyone to furnish alcoholic beverages to anyone under the age of 21. All containers must be properly disposed of.
BATHROOMS
Bathrooms are cleaned daily. Please pick up after yourself when you exit the bathrooms. Children under 6 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. NO BARE FEET ALLOWED.
CAMPFIRES
Must be kept small and within the fire pit provided by the campground. Do not leave your campsite or go to bed with a fire still burning. We ask that you put your fire out no later than 1:00am and do not start a fire before 5:00am. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE FIRE PITS. Firewood is available at no charge, if we are out you can purchase it locally or talk to us about any sawing projects we need to do. Please do not burn pressure treated lumber, lumber with nails or screws, or lumber that has been painted. Don’t move firewood: “Buy where you burn.” This prevents the spread of insects, etc. from one location or state to another.
PLEASE BE SURE YOUR CAMPFIRE IS EXTINGUISHED COMPLETELY BEFORE YOU LEAVE!
NO CUTTING OR DISFIGURING ANY TREES
DO NOT DUMP CHARCOAL OR ASHES IN THE WOODS
PARKING SPOTS
Parking spots are rented to one family consisting of two adults. Extra adults or children will be charged a fee. Only the truck and trailer combo will be allowed per spot. Each additional vehicle must be parked in the designated parking area and additional parking can be very limited on busy weekends and holidays.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Refunds will be given on reservations canceled at least 30 days prior to arrival minus a $25.00 cancellation fee. Parking and boarding cancellations made less than 14 days but at least 7 days prior to arrival date will be entitled to a credit for a future stay, minus a $25 cancellation fee. Cancellations made less than 7 days prior to arrival shall receive no refund or credit. No refunds for early departure for any reason. Failure to arrive on arrival date without notification will forfeit your deposit and site. NO REFUNDS ON HOLIDAY RESERVATIONS.
CANCELLATION POLICY – ROOM RENTALS
Refunds will be given on reservations canceled at least 14 days prior to arrival and a one (1) night fee will be charged. Within 14 days of arrival no refunds are given for cancellations. No refunds for early departure for any reason. Failure to arrive on arrival date without notification will forfeit your deposit and site. NO REFUNDS ON HOLIDAY RESERVATIONS.
CHECK-IN
Check-in is from 11 am till 8 pm. If you will be arriving after 8 pm, please call us by 8 pm to notify and check-in over the phone. If arriving late please be quiet and do not set up until morning. If you would like to check-in before 11 a.m, please call the us to see if your site is available. If it is, you may check in early for a fee of $25.00.
CHECK-OUT
Check-outs are at 3 pm. If you would like to stay longer, your rig must be packed and ready to pull out by then. We may reserve the right to ask you to move your rig to another location until you leave.
CHILDREN
No one under the age of 21 is allowed to stay on the farm or be left without adult supervision. Children under 18 must be on a visitor’s site and under adult supervision after 6 pm. NO “POWER WHEELS” or powered children’s recreation vehicles allowed.
CIGARETTE (ALL) SMOKERS
Please do not drop cigarette butts on the ground. Discarding of butts should be done in a neat and safe manner. Either burn them or discard them in the trash. Please do not smoke anywhere on the property except inside your vehicle or under your own canopy.
DEPOSITS AND FUTURE RESERVATIONS
Deposits must be paid at the time of making reservation. Holiday reservations will need to be paid in full when reservation is made. When booking online for a holiday, we will collect 50% of the balance upon making the reservation. Once we receive a confirmation of that reservation, we will then charge that card for the rest of the balance. Reservations for 2020 are open beginning May 1, 2020. Reservations for 2021 are open beginning May 15, 2020. All reservations will be on first come/call first serve basis. If you reserve more than one parking spot, you are responsible for the deposit for each spot for which you have reserved.
EQUIPMENT RENTAL
Helmets, corn hole, and some equipment are available. Ask for details.
FIREWORKS, FIREARMS, OTHER WEAPONS, AND ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES ARE PROHIBITED ON FARM PROPERTY
GATES
All gates should be closed when leaving, while horses are loose or tied and at night. Gates leading from the trails to the property must be closed each time they are passed through after 5 p.m. but can be left open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
HORSES
A form will be signed upon arrival. All horses must be contained in paddocks, properly tied at assigned hitching posts or in the hands of their owner at all times. NO STALLIONS. All farm horses have right of way to all guest horses on trails and property. Please move a minimum of 12 feet off the trail when approaching farm horses or turn back to an intersection where you can safely let them pass. Farm horses are often ridden by beginners and it is your responsibility to make sure your horse does not kick, bite, approach or otherwise touch a farm horse while being ridden. All horses must submit a current coggins and rabies certificate.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
Riding is an outdoor experience. Therefore, we do not give refunds due to discomforts or acts of nature or otherwise (example: rain).
LAUNDRY
A laundry is available for $10 per load. People clothes only and no more than two loads per site per stay.

NOTICE TO GUESTS
This property is privately owned. The Guest accepts parking and riding privileges with the understanding that he or she does hereby release the Carousel Horse Farm LLC, its officers and employees of ALL liability for loss or damage to property and injury to his/her use of its facilities, and agrees to indemnify the Carousel Horse Farm LLC, its officers and employees, against claims resulting from loss or damage to property or injury to the person of any member of the family or guest of the registered camper arising out of use of its facilities.
PETS
We are pet friendly . Please make sure your pet behaves properly and does not disturb others having a quiet vacation. When registering you will be required to fill out our pet agreement and please bring a copy of their rabies certificate. The rules must be followed, or your pet will be required to leave the farm property. Pets must always be leashed, QUIET AT ALL TIMES AND PICKED UP AFTER. Pets are not to be left unattended at any time. Please be sure to have a plastic bag when walking your dog. You must have your pet leashed and under control at all times. Therefore, NO child under the age of 12 is allowed to walk a dog. Management reserves the right to refuse to allow pets on Carousel Horse Farm LLC property if they feel they are a danger to other campers. No aggressive behavior will be tolerated.
PETS IN RENTAL UNITS
Pets will be allowed in rental units for a fee.
PRIVACY
Respect the privacy of other visitors and do not trespass or cut through their spots. Please make sure your children and guests are aware of this rule.
PROFANITY
Explicit behavior or inappropriate language will not be tolerated. This will result in expulsion without refund.
Quiet Hours
Will be observed Sunday-Thursday from 8pm – 8am, Friday, Saturday and Holidays from 11pm – 8am. Nightly patrol will ensure compliance with this rule. Anyone that does not comply with this rule will be asked to leave. Please no radios or TVs on outside during quiet hours.
RATES & RESERVATIONS
This is a privately-owned property; OPEN MAY 15- OCTOBER 30. We reserve the right to select our clientele and guests. Minors under 21 years old are not allowed to cstay without a parent or guardian. We encourage payment in full before arrival date as this helps to speed up the check-in process. Once a group has arrived and registered, refunds will not be granted due to weather or personal reasons.
SEWERAGE/DUMP STATION
Loon Haven Campground offers dumping and an easy in and out drive. It is approximately 8 miles from Carousel Horse Farm. $60 fee. Other options are also available nearby.
All trash is to be placed in receptacles before between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Please do not leave trash out overnight, or for pick-up after 10 as animals may get into it. Please do not leave trash in fire pit or burn trash. No large items, chairs, stoves, grills etc. are to be left for trash pick-up or at the dumpsters. Normal household garbage only.
VISITORS
Upon entering the campground all visitors must register by phone 207-627-4471 and pay the fee. Vehicles must be parked in front parking lot by the business sign. All day visitors must be off the grounds by 8:00pm. Visitors are not allowed to bring dogs. Visitors arriving by ATV or horse must call ahead before entering the property trails and follow all rules while visiting or they will be asked to leave.
VEHICLES
The speed limit in the campground is 5 MPH. Any additional or visiting vehicles must be parked in the designated parking area. Parking on adjacent sites is not allowed. No golf carts or other motorized vehicles of any kind are allowed on campground property.
Wi-Fi
We offer free basic Wi-Fi throughout the campground. It is hospitality grade and will allow you to do basic internet activities. We make no guarantees to its speed or quality.
