Everyone is excited about our new service! Sleigh Rides! Group sleigh rides or private sleigh rides, for many its a once in a lifetime experience. We have families with loved ones who live in countries that never see snow, ready to make the experience a reality for them! Couples are reliving their past by dashing through the snow and singing Jingle Bells! Sleigh rides are an excellent experience for all ages.
In order to make sure the trails are ideal for the sleigh throughout the season its imperative that we wait until there is a good base and then groom the trails regularly to keep them deep and flat. This is important for the passenger to make the ride as smooth as possible but also for the horses so that the sleigh is not too hard to pull. This generally means at least 8 full inches on the ground at the same time. That could be 2 inches that don’t melt and then 6 inches on top of that. Or two four inch storms. But if the first storm loses any snow we often have to wait until the third storm.
We generally don’t take reservations until after Christmas but we will be taking them for this coming weekend if all goes well. With the storm on December 12th and then more snow on December 17th with a significant cold snap in between we are on our way to having a gorgeous day on Saturday the 17th. We plan to have a professional photographer too! We’ll be happy to take your photo for a memory or maybe next year’s Christmas Cards.
Take some time to check out our sleigh ride page and know that we are also adding sleighs to our program so new pictures should be up in a week or so!
