Group Beginner Ride at Carousel Horse Farm
Weekends 2025 prices $79/person
Weekdays 2025 prices $100/pp (Min 2)
Riders must be available 11,1,3 and 5 pm to get this discount. Choose “Any” timeframe on the reservation form. You can also choose multiple days in the comments section on the booking form. We choose the time based on the current schedule. We fill 1 and 3 pm first. Deposits for this ride are non refundable.
If we can’t fill a ride we may reschedule it or give you the option to pay the private price.
Our 45 minute to one hour beginner Maine guided horse ride is perfect for families. This ride starts with a short tutorial on how to steer and stop, how to hold and use your reins properly and what to expect. This is in preparation before getting on the trail through the easier portions. One child under 10 and no more than two children under 12.
You can be on a horse for the very first time or if someone in your party has anxiety or just needs extra time to understand the instructions. It is a walk only pace through woods and fields with a gorgeous view of Mt. Washington on a clear day. Wildlife abounds and our little wooded area just behind the barn is a virtual nursery of fawns, fox, fisher cats, wild turkey and many other species.

Seven Days a week, limited weekend availability. Saturday and Sunday mornings. Group of 3 $375, Group of 4 $450, Group of 5 $500 and Group of 6 $600
The Private Trail Ride is approximately one hour for people 6 years and up, who’d like a catered experience based on their comfort level and abilities. Some perks that aren’t included in our group rides are photos while out on the trail (not professional) and personalized instruction during the ride. The more advanced version includes the added complexity of riding steep hills, navigating more difficult trails and seeing a river with small waterfalls as well as the mountain view everyone gets to see. This option is limited to riders under 240 lbs and over 11 years old. An easier version for beginners does not include the river but will include the mountain view.
Sunset Horseback Ride at Carousel Horse Farm
2025 Private only on weekdays $299/couple Friday and Saturday groups $125/person
This group ride is available 1 hr before sunset.
Private sunset rides Sunday through Thursday are $299/couple
The sunset ride covers the same trail as the beginner ride except we plan the trip to get to the top of the hill with the best view as close to sunset as possible. All level riders including first time riders will enjoy this ride. Book in the fall for the brightest fall foliage experience.
Two Hour Ride
2025 Prices $550/couple $150 each additional person
Mon thru Wed mornings are the best time for these rides. Available every weekday *closed Tuesdays. Only available at 9 a.m. on weekends.
Two hour rides take the riders down a technical trail into Jugtown Forest where there are beautiful sandy trails. A great opportunity to see wildlife, the river with small waterfalls and opportunities to trot. This ride is appropriate for 12 yrs and up. All riders must weigh under 240 lbs. Younger children are considered if they have current riding experience and show a proficiency during the preparation and the first 20 minutes of the ride.
